Xenos Assistant
UX design & design research
Winter 2024
For an interaction design class during my M.S. at Northwestern, my team developed Xenos Assistant for the fictional company Xenos, an innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) brand. Xenos Assistant is an in-vehicle guide that utilizes Vehicle-To-Everything (V2X) connectivity to enhance road safety by assisting users with onboarding and providing voice-controlled access to features.

Research & user testing
We interviewed 8 EV drivers to understand their experiences, pain points, needs, and values.
We conducted two rounds of user testing: the first introduced our initial 3 concepts, and the second focused on the refined Smart Xenos, combining ideas from the initial concepts based on feedback, SWOT analyses, and a midterm review. Feedback from round 2 was used to develop the Xenos Assistant.
Below are the stimuli we presented to our interviewees in both rounds of user testing.
Building Xenos Assistant
After conceptually developing Xenos Assistant, we created an inspiration mood board with collected inspiration, brands, and values. This guided us in establishing a style guide and overall aesthetic.
This project was an invaluable experience in the design process, group collaboration, user research, and user testing. As Creative Director, I practiced organizing and leading the team, guiding discussions, and making key decisions. In the future, I want a more hands-on role in the final design process. This role also sparked my interest in becoming a Creative Director. This project highlights my strengths in the design process and demonstrates my ability to make purposeful design decisions.
